Message:
Despite vast improvements in surgical and medical care, cardio-vascular disease remains
the number one cause of death and stroke in America. Treating this disease before it
can cause symptoms can be extremely effective. Many patients will not recover once this
disease begins to show its symptoms. We believe that a proactive plan should be
implemented to aid in the early detection and treatment of cardio-vascular disease.
The goal of this plan is to prevent the effects of vascular disease from progressing
into a chronic disease state. The cornerstone of prevention is early detection.
With childhood obesity nearing epidemic levels, early screening is now recommended.
These children are at an increased risk for high cholesterol, diabetes and high blood
pressure. Identifying and treating this disease at its earliest stage will
dramatically improve our children's quality of life.
In order to fulfill our mission, Care to be Aware Vascular Foundation will provide
educational programs and sponsor cardio-vascular screening at
no cost or low cost to
the public. Financial grants are available to community
organizations. These grants
are provided to appropriate organizations in order to aid in the early detection of
cardio-vascular disease.
Background:
The Care to be Aware Vascular Foundation was founded by a vascular surgeon in an
effort to create a proactive platform for his community. The foundation is recognized
under Vanguard Vascular Charitable Foundation as a non-profit by the State of New
Jersey and as a charitable, tax-exempt organization by the Internal Revenue Service.
If the disease can be identified earlier and not after it has created symptoms, our
community will be healthier and more active throughout their lives. Early detection
will allow patients to have proper medical care that can slow or prevent the
progression of the disease into a more aggressive disease state. Most cardio-vascular
disease can be treated safely and effectively. The earlier the disease is found, the
safer and more effective the treatment. We hope that once you AWARE of your health
risks you will seek appropriate CARE.
Care To Be Aware Vascular Foundation Mission Statement:
The Foundation's mission is to provide for the education, prevention and early detection of
cardio-vascular disease. This charity will support the education of interested community
groups, professional organizations and individuals. The primary education goals will focus
on the early detection, prevention and treatment of cardio-vascular disease. This charity
will support both public and private initiatives that align with the charities mission statement.
This charity will sponsor free or low cost screenings of cardio-vascular disease in order to
provide for the early detection of cardio-vascular disease. Cardio-vascular disease is defined
as any disease of the blood vessels, arteries and or veins. This disease leads to heart
disease, stroke, death, and limb loss resulting in non-reversible disabilities.
