Who should apply for a screening grant?

Organizations that have an interest in providing a preventative service to their community. The applying organization will have a commitment to community healthcare preventative services. Please contact the foundation to request an application.

How to apply for a grant

Please contact Marie A. Ricci, Director of Development directly at 609-978-8695 to request an application. The Foundation's office will forward an application to your organization in order for you to review the acceptance criteria. The grants are awarded in March and October of each calendar year.

Screening exam support

Our Foundation will assist your organization in several ways. We can provide logistical support, exam reporting format, interpretation support, as well as nursing/staff training. We will make every effort to provide the flexibility your organization requires. We will work with your organization to maximize the impact the screening event will have on your community.

The Care To Be Aware Vascular Foundation functions under the Vanguard Vascular Charitable Foundation as a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization. This foundation is recognized by the State of New Jersey and as a charitable, tax-exempt organization by the Internal Revenue Service. As a charitable foundation, it requires both public and private funding. Our funding originates from our generous community and from appropriate corporate sponsors. If you have attended one of our educational programs and/or participated in a screening experience, please consider a small donation so that our programs can continue to grow. Please refer to our contact page for important reference information. Remember without the support of you and others like you charitable foundations cannot exist.

Fundraising activity

Bluegrass by the Bay 2009
Our inaugural event was held at the Little Egg Harbor Yacht Club in Beach Haven on September 12, 2009. Up and Runnin, Home Cookin and the Sawdust Boys were the featured bands. The music was complimented by an evening of sailing on the classic Barnegat Bay A-Cat sail boats. These magnificent vessels were campaigned by the Toms River Seaport and the Ocean County College Sailing Team. Steven Dipietro (Stefano's) and Rob Roth provided great food which included a down home pig roast, BBQ with crab cakes and seafood vodka penne. Rob and Steve were supported with a raw bar by Rick Bushnell from The Reclam the Bay charitable organization. The dinner was complemented with fabulous fudge from Country Kettle Fudge in Beach Haven. Over 300 people joined us for a great evening of music, food and sailing at this special bay front venue.

Bluegrass by the Bay 2010
This year's event will again be at the Little Egg Harbor Yacht Club in Beach Haven, New Jersey. The yacht club has once again generously donated their fantastic facilities for the foundations main fundraiser. For those of you who have never been to Little Harbor Egg Yacht Club, you will not want to miss the beautiful setting and the classic early 1900's architecture of this amazing yacht club. The event is planned for September 18, 2010. Tickets are available through the foundation office for $40.00 each. The ticket price includes food, entertainment, and complimentary beer and wine. The evening will be filled with bluegrass music, a tasty pig roast and sailing on the bay. Updates will be forth coming.
